At GRACE Shelter, our mission is to provide safe and supportive housing for those experiencing homelessness in the San Francisco Bay Area and Chicago. We strive to empower individuals by offering essential services and resources to help them regain stability in their lives.
About GRACE Shelter
GRACE Shelter is a future emergency and transitional homeless shelter located in Chicago, dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment for individuals experiencing
homelessness. Our organization recognizes the critical need for immediate relief and long-term
support for this vulnerable population. By offering essential resources and services, GRACE
Shelter aims to foster dignity, hope, and empowerment for those in crisis.
Homeless Population (San Francisco & Chicago)
Homelessness is a pressing issue in San Francisco and Chicago, and has been for a great number of years. It is an estimated 80,000 individuals who are experiencing homelessness in Chicago; as well 50,000 individuals in the San Francisco Bay Area. There are thousands of adults and children facing the daily struggle of survival without stable housing, lack of food and proper nutrition, as well as mental health counseling.
Factors such as high poverty rates, economic instability, lack of housing programs, low domestic
violence help, high rental prices, low paying employers are also causes of homelessness. There are thousands of poverty stricken individuals who struggle to afford a place to call home, purchase food to eat, and basic necessities such as clothes, personal hygiene items, and shoes.
